National Mother's Day Vigil
for Peace in Colombia
May 6 2005
On February 21-22 2005, eight members of the San José de Apartadó Peace Community in Colombia - a town that since 1997 has prohibited the presence of all armed groups - were tortured and killed. Until we know more about what happened, the State Department must not recertify the Colombian military’s human-rights performance.

Senator Coleman is the chair of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee on Latin America. We call for him to demand an independent investigation of the massacre before the U.S. Recertification of the Colombian Government on Human Rights issues in 2005. See below on how to contact the senator.
